This week's Ten on Tuesday:
10 things you want to do in 2009
1. Run a half marathon. Really. I don't have any idea why, but I'd like to do it (by the end of the year.)
2. Eat out less and cook more. I miss cooking. It takes time and effort I frequently can't find.
3. Read more books. Again, something I miss doing, that takes time and effort I have trouble finding.
4. Find a new job. Because, well, I have to as my funding is running out.
5. Travel to a new city.
6. Go camping.
7. Learn a new skill.
8. Write a paper.
9. Knit more than I did in 2008.
10. Go shelling on the beach.

A worthy list! See Terby run:)
Shelling! I love shelling! do you have good shelling where you are? It doesn't matter, even clam shells can be fun!
(my verification is "inesesse".)
Great list! And I'm with you on the half marathon. It's inexplicable, but somehow something that calls to be done...
Tricks I found to make eating in easier:
1. Buy lettuce. Prep in salad spinner and store in fridge so all you have to do is reach in and grab a handful when you need it.
2. Ditto on other salad/stir-fry veggies. Ziploc Twist n Loc containers help loads.
3. Buy a big rotisserie chicken at Costco or similar warehouse club. Pull all the meat off at home and store in serving size containers in fridge. Great for stir-fry, chicken salad, tossing on a chef's salad, etc.
4. Toss the chicken bones into a pot of water with some carrots/celery and simmer for 3 hours (or overnight in a slow cooker). Presto! You are half way to chicken soup. And the stock freezes well.
These tricks work really well for us and they save us money, too, since there's much less waste when the food's already to go - nothing gets lost in the back of the crisper drawer.
